Codex Guide
How to use the oracle, what wisdom it holds, and the guided Scrolls available
What the Codex Offers

The Outlands Codex has two ways to help thee. The Oracle is a free-form AI chat that answers questions about builds, dungeons, skills, crafting, lore, and mechanics — drawing from the UO Outlands Wiki, the official Outlands site, and community resources.

The Codex Scrolls are guided oracle tools — each Scroll asks four questions and returns a personalised recommendation. Use them when thou hast a specific decision to make and wantest the oracle to do the thinking for thee.

The Codex is a community AI tool, not an official Outlands resource. For official rulings, patch details, and staff guidance, always refer to the official Outlands site, wiki, and community Discord.

Tips for Consulting the Oracle
  • Be specific. "What skills do I need for a Dex Tamer at 720 points?" gets a better answer than "how do I make a tamer?"
  • Ask follow-up questions. The Codex holds context within a conversation. Build on previous answers to go deeper.
  • Ask for comparisons. "What's the difference between a Mage Tamer and a Dex Tamer?" works well.
  • Verify patch-sensitive info. Game mechanics change. Always cross-reference with the wiki or patch notes for the latest authority.
  • Use plain language. No special syntax needed. Ask the way you'd ask a knowledgeable guildie.
  • Use a Codex Scroll when thou hast a specific decision — build, dungeon, aspect, income strategy. The Scrolls ask the right questions and do the reasoning for thee.

What the Codex Cannot Do
  • The Codex cannot resolve account issues, bans, or conduct disputes. Contact Outlands staff via the official Discord.
  • The Codex cannot provide real-time information — live market prices, current player locations, or ongoing event scores.
  • The Codex may not reflect the very latest patch changes. Always check patch notes for breaking changes.
